If you have woodland on your property that you would like to manage as a healthy natural area, you might look into a workshop coming up at The Quarry Gardens on Wednesday, May 3. Designed for small acreage and DIY landowners, the morning workshop will include outdoor demonstrations in the Quarry Garden’s woodlands. Participants are invited to bring a lunch to enjoy in the QG’s picnic pavilion and to take an optional afternoon tour of the gardens. Each participant will receive two award-winning workbooks, The Woods in Your Backyard, and the Woodland Health Practices Handbook. Virginia Department of Forestry, Headwaters Soil and Conservation District, Virginia Cooperative Extension, and the Department of Wildlife resources have partnered to bring this event to the local community.
