This photo, taken on an unseasonably warm March afternoon in front of the Quarry Gardens garage, shows Piedmont Master Gardeners potting and labeling some of the more than 6,300 plants to be offered at the PMG Annual Spring Plant Sale on Saturday, May 7, from 10 to 2 at Albemarle Square in Charlottesville. We hosted two such early spring parties.

The sale will include natives, bulbs and tubers, heirloom vegetables, herbs, houseplants, plants for sun and shade, deer resistant plants, trees, shrubs—and a great selection of Green Elephants, garden-related tools and accessories.

Soil test kits will be available. A Help Desk will be staffed to provide information on problem plants, insects, and diseases. Tool sharpening will be available. Surplus plastic pots will be accepted for recycling. The QG’s own Bernice Thieblot will dispense advice at the Natives table.

Albemarle Square is on Rt. 29 north, just beyond Rio Road and Fashion Square Mall. See more at: piedmontmastergardeners.org/events/spring-plant-sale-2022/
