Quarry Gardens co-owner Armand Thieblot will lead this tour with an introduction to the project and the history of soapstone mining in the Visitor Center, followed by a walk along the trail that circumnavigates the quarry pools. The trail features a loose chain of galleries of native plants.
In early June, you may expect to see Indian Hemp, Thimbleweed, Butterfly weed, Carolina Rose, Goat’s beard, Yellow false indigo, Sweetshrub, New Jersey tea, Turtlehead, Wild basil, Threadleaf coreopsis, Fleabanes, Flowering spurge, Wild hydrangea, Coral honeysuckle, Beardtongues, Fameflower, and Mountainmints.
We invite you to bring a lunch and enjoy it in the picnic pavilion after the tour.
