Either Armand or Bernice Thieblot, co-founders of The Quarry Gardens, will lead this tour. It will begin in the Visitor Center, with an introduction to the QGs project and the history of soapstone mining, and continue with a walk along the main trail around the quarries.
Among the native plant communities, look for Upland ironweed, Milkweeds, Maryland golden aster, Boneset, Flowering spurge, New England aster, many Goldenrods, Woolgrass, Joe Pye weed, Wild petunia, Partridge pea, Mistflower, Passionflower, Wild bergamot, Spotted beebalm, White water lily, Thoroughwort, Quill fameflower, Pickerelweed, four species of Mountainmint, and many others.
