Opera at the Quarry Gardens: Soundflight 3

Victory Hall Opera Company will return to the Quarry Gardens with Soundflight 3 during the first week of June.
Since its inception as a way of creating live performances during the pandemic, VHO’s Soundflight in Schuyler has become “a Virginian golden ticket.” Soundflight 3 will once again bring some of VHO’s starriest troupe members to the gardens for four performances of an all-acoustic program relying on the power of deep water and high walls to amplify sound.
Following a recent triumph as Elijah Mohammed in The Metropolitan Opera’s “X: The Life and Times of Malcom X”, tenor Victor Ryan Robertson will perform alongside star of Fat Pig Sarah Wolfson (soprano). Katy Ambrose also returns, with French horn and alphorn in hand, with star percussionist I-Jen Fang and Brooklyn-based composer/ accordionist Will Holshauser.
Performers will be staged around the perimeter of the two quarry pools; the audience will follow the program by walking the main trail.
The four performances are scheduled for June 2, 4, 6, and 8 with rain dates on the following days. Tickets go on sale starting April 6 on the VHO website (victoryhallopera.org).
The Quarry Gardens do not charge VHO for use of the site; however, donations to the QGs will be much appreciated.
