Armand Thieblot, co-owner of the Quarry Gardens, will lead this tour. In the Visitor Center, he will introduce the QGs project and the history of soapstone mining. Then he will lead a walk along the main trail around the quarries. Among the plant communities, look for Pussytoes, Woodland stonecrop, Rattlesnake weed, Prickly pear cactus, Carolina rose, Mayapple, Sundrops, Indian hemp, Wild basil, Silky dogwood and other spring bloomers.
The tour will take about two hours. Consider bringing a lunch to enjoy in our picnic pavilion.
