Pat Mitchell, co-founder and President of the Blue Ridge Mycological Society will lead this event, which includes a brief lecture and a foray.
In the Visitor Center classroom, Pat will introduce the world of fungi, tell partcipants how to learn more about them, and provide guidelines for finding and eating edible mushrooms. Following that, we’ll take to the woods and see what’s fruiting. Dress appropriately for the trail.
You are welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy it in the pavilion after the walk.
